Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine: Avoid drinking alcohol or caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment. Avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Fish oil and Vitamin E: Under consultation with your doctor, avoid these medications and supplements 1 week prior to your appointment

Your comfort is my number one priority, I will work as quickly and gently as possible. I understand procedures with needles can be very uncomfortable for some of my clients, so feel free to bring headphones to listen to your favourite music or podcast, please let me know in advance if you need to bring a support person to your appointment. Please be aware that a women’s menstrual cycle can play a role in her pain perception, so I recommend coming in the first two weeks of your cycle for your treatments. Anaesthetic cream and a stress ball can be used to help reduce pain during the treatment.

Please follow your aftercare instructions and get in touch anytime if you have any unexpected reaction or concerns. The first few days you may experience some swelling and bruising, be patient and allow time for your treatment to settle. A mild stinging sensation at the time of injection which quickly disappears. This treatment has a minimal recovery time, the most common post procedural complaints are mild bruising and headaches for the first few days after treatment, this can be managed with over the counter medication.

Results may start to be seen within a few days after treatment, however the final result will not show until 2 weeks post treatment, this is when it is best to assess your individual dosing by coming back into the clinic for a complimentary follow up appointment. Result longevity is individual and can typically range from 2-4 months.

How does this treatment work? Wrinkle formation occurs with age and from repeated contraction of our facial muscles. Wrinkle treatments relax these muscles, by temporarily stopping the communication between the muscles and the nerves in the area treated and preventing the muscle contraction from occurring.

Can this treatment stop working over time? It is possible to develop antibodies to this treatment over time. It is best practice to correctly dose and have 6 weeks between your treatments to reduce the risk of this occurring. It is also advised to not rotate brands at each treatment, as this leads to an increase risk of building a resistance to treatment. A two week review is recommended for all patients to check the outcome of the treatments results.

Numbing cream will be applied prior to lip filler treatment and dermal fillers used in clinic are combined with local anesthetic for your comfort. Multiple injection points are precisely placed via a small needle to deliver the product into the area treated. This is usually well tolerated and discomfort will vary depending on the area of the face being treated. A cannula may be used for treatment where there will only be one needle insertion point per side. Swelling and lumpiness may be present over the next few days, this is expected to settle by 2-4 weeks post treatment. If you are prone to cold sores, when having lip filler it is advised to take over the counter antiviral medication to prevent an outbreak.

Results are immediate, with final results seen once swelling has settled and the filler has integrated with your tissue, which occurs at 2-4 weeks post treatment. Result longevity will vary between individuals and the treatment performed, results may last 6-18 months.

What is volume treatment? This treatment is made of a substance which naturally occurs within our body called hyaluronic acid. This substance can hold 1000 times it’s water weight and is used as a cosmetic injectable treatments due to it’s safety, being generally well tolerated and reversible and providing natural looking and long lasting results.

How much can be treated at once? A treatment plan will be recommended after your initial consultation. Multiple areas may be treated within one appointment, however no more than one syringe will be used in the one area within one appointment.

Local anesthetic will be applied to the face prior to treatment. A stinging sensation will be felt with the 10 injections and quickly subsides once the needle is removed. A small lump may be felt at the injection point which will settle within 24-48 hours, there is no need to massage the area.

Some immediate results may be seen, final results will be seen 4-6 weeks after your second treatment and results may last 6 months with a maintenance dose recommended every 6 months.

What is this treatment? This treatment uses a high concentration and pure hyaluronic acid, which when non surgically placed into the skin, disperses through the skin layers over a 4-week period, stimulating collagen and elastin production and deeply hydrating the skin. As we age, our natural collagen and elastin production decreases causing our skin to lose it’s composition and firmness, bioremodelling allows the underlying skin cells to remodel sagging and deteriorating tissue.

How many treatments do I need? For expected outcomes and results, an initial 2-3 treatments are recommended 1 month apart. Thereafter, it is recommended to continue one maintenance treatment every 6 months to maintain optimal results.
What is the difference between this treatment and volume treatments? They are both made up of a naturally occurring substance in our body called hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid differs in its composition and dosing between the products resulting in varying outcomes. Collagen boosting and hydrating treatments do not result in added volume making it somewhat different from dermal fillers, but instead it provides intense hydration with hyaluronic acid for an improvement in skin health and texture.

A local anaesthetic cream will be applied prior to treatment. Multiple needles will be inserted into the skin, then removed leaving the PDO thread in situ. Bruising, swelling and tenderness are the most common side effects along with intermittent discomfort to the area treated for up to 2 weeks whilst the threads settle into the dermis.

Some immediate results may be seen, final results will be seen at 6-8 weeks. It takes 3-6 months for the thread to dissolve and results may last up to 12 months.

What are PDO Threads and how do they work? Polydioxanone threads are made up of a dissolvable suture attached to a needle which introduces the thread into the dermal layer of the skin. With the introduction of the PDO thread an inflammatory healing response occurs, increasing collagen and elastin in the skin. This supports and thickens the structure of the skin, resulting in a tightening effect and the improvement of tone and texture of the skin.
Who is suitable for the treatment? A consultation will be required to assess your overall health and expectations. The best candidates for this treatment are healthy individuals aged between 25-55 years old as ageing begins to occur and collagen synthesis is still present. This treatment is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, with a history of suture rejection, has any active infection or skin inflammation, has had recent surgery, suffers from any anticoagulant or autoimmune conditions.
Is this treatment painful? This treatment is mostly well tolerated, there is some areas of the face which may be more painful than other areas to have treated, and needle fatigue can occur towards the end of the treatment. Pain tolerance is individual and treating small areas during one session will improve the comfort of this treatment
Is there any downtime? Yes, please don’t plan this treatment 2 weeks before any important events as bruising may last up to 2 weeks post treatment if it is to occur. It is important to keep the area make up free and clean for 24 hours. Swelling, bruising and tenderness can be managed with paracetamol, arnica, and ice packs.
How many PDO threads will I need? An individual consultation and face assessment will be required to determine how many threads will be needed as this will vary with each individual. The skin health, areas treated and desired results will be factors which will effect how many PDO threads your nurse will recommend.

The four injection points are generally well tolerated. Redness, tenderness and swelling to the area starts to occur immediately after the procedure, this usually lasts 1-2 weeks post treatment.

What is JuvaSlim and how does it work? JuvaSlim is a treatment containing synthesised molecules, similar to that found in the digestive system. The device uses micro needles to penetrate the skin, with a mild discomfort experienced during the procedure. During your treatment you may feel a slight pressure, warmth and a prickling sensation as the device moves across your skin. Jan Marini face peels contain a combination of cosmeceutical strength enzymes, alpha hydroxy (AHA) and beta hydroxy (BHA) acids. Mild stinging and erythema may occur during your treatment and settle once the peel has been removed. Minor breakouts, dryness or flakiness may occur in days following your peel.
